Midlands Media Awards People’s Choice

Big City Talk is up for the Midlands Media Awards People’s Choice Award. The awards are to “recognise an individual or group that has used social media tools to make a difference”. The Brum Bloggers Social Media Surgeries are also on the list, as is the 4am Project.

Birmingham – Open (Data) City

Interesting news about central government funding for Birmingham to pilot opening up city council data online, could be excellent news if it doesn't get too bogged down in process and uses the "open" idea for everything it does. I have high hopes.
