It’s always national something day, it’s pretty easy to set up your own as we discovered, but this Thursday is National Poetry day. This isn’t set up by the makers of Poetry: It’s Not Shit, but by the Arts Council – which is kind of the same thing really. Apparently this year’s theme is the idea of a ‘dream tour‘, and as such there’ll be a group of poets wandering round town in their nightwear. The group will perform in two shifts, starting outside the REP Theatre on Broad Street at 12:30 and at 6pm, sleep-walking their way around Broad Street, Brindley Place, the Mailbox, the Bull Ring and the Central Library. So isn’t a Boomtown Rats keyboard player tribute act after all.
