Ol’ Ozzy isn’t the most steady-handed of guys, so while it’s fairly unlikely that he’d have turned to painting (if it wasn’t for charidee and that) his message isn’t, erm er, well you can see where I’m going can’t you… The canvas, is available to order from the Whatever it Takes website, and the money goes to 21st Century Leaders: a unique charity artwork project. The concept is simple. We gather artworks from leaders in all fields; royalty, film, music, Nobel Peace Prize laureates, sports, literature etc. Each ambassador donates a symbol of hope, a self portrait and a message of hope for the future. Er, don’t spill your seed upon stony ground, go buy one.

OZZY OSBOURNE – OSBOURNE CRITICISES LONDON OLYMPICS: “‘That thing is going to cost about nine billion pounds! That’s a lot of money to watch some guy run around a f**king track. ‘I could go to some gym and see that for free.’ ” Oh, come on young John – Birmingham will benefit we’re assured, the Chinese swimming team might come here first or something. It’s not often it’s Ozzy Osbourne as the voice of reason in political funding discussions.

Walk Pigs*

Despite being welcomed by Lord Mayor Randall Brew**, Ozzy Osbourne won’t be getting a drink when he opens the Birmingham Walk of Stars on July 6th, as apparently the “area is an Alcohol Restricted Zone and the consumption of alcohol will not be permitted in Centenary Square.” Should still be fun – and with the ceremony kicking off at 4pm, you should have plenty of time to get a pint somewhere on Broad St afterwards. *Doesn’t really work, sorry. **He should definitely form a charity cricket team called the Brew XI, shouldn’t he?

According to Metroblogging Birmingham, we didn’t like the Bull Ring beach much. I’d have said we we’re positive, but underwhelmed. There’s no denying this skill in this sand sculpture of Ozzy Osbourne tho’ – apparently voted most famous Brummie by Bull Ring shoppers. We’ve always liked Gary Taylor’s idea for a ‘Brummie Walk of Fame, with Hollywood(the American one)-style pavement stars, although I’m not sure Broad St is the best place for anything. I’ll have to make a special trip tho’ on July 6th when Ozzy comes to the grand unveiling ceremony for his star. Ozzy to receive hometown honour – Yahoo!
