#365 – i’ve discovered where birminghames apostrophes have gone, originally uploaded by star-one. Simon has discovered where Birmingham’s apostrophes have gone.
"In this article, I have tried to establish how many apostrophes remain on Birmingham’s street nameplates and when did they start to disappear." Oh yes, with pictures and typographical history, Cllr Mullaney clears up the apostrocalypse once and for all.
These are my links for 30 th January from 02:28 to 02:28
Martin Mullaney says"The Council's Transportation Department are about to erect various signage directing people to Kings Heath – they have asked me about whether Kings Heath should have an apostrophe making it King's Heath." I think it should (the name deriving apparently from nearby King's Norton) – but feel free to play Lynne Truss over on Martin's blog.
