Scare the willies out of yourself, with 7inch

7inch cinema’s Christmas special is a double bill of ghostly tales – in the suitably framed Highbury Hall (once home to Joseph Chamberlain of course). It’s tomorrow: For one night only Highbury will pay host to two spine-tingling gems from Christmasses Past: A Warning to the Curious (dir: Lawrence Gordon Clark, 1972, 50 mins) An amateur archaeologist (Peter Vaughan) digs up a crown and finds himself shadowed by a mysterious stranger… Whistle and I’ll Come to You (dir: Jonathan Miller, 1968, 42 mins) A bumbling academic (Michael Hordern) discovers a whistle carved from bone on the Norfolk sand-dunes. “A masterpiece of economical horror” – screenonline

Screen there, do that… you know you should, you really should.

We don’t often suggest Wolverhampton as a venue for anything, but those interested in filmmaking of the shorter form should not miss the Screen WM Short film is dead…Long live short film! event that’s coming up. The two day event on the 16th and 17th November at the Light House in Wolverhampton will feature talks from industry professionals and screenings of both local and world famous film shorts. 7 inch Cinema are there on the Friday, but go check out the link there’s a load of stuff. In other Wolverhampton news, friend of BiNS the great Frank Sidebottom will by plying his papier trade at the Little Civic on December 13th for his Big Christmas show. We wouldn’t miss it for the world, specially when the wind blows.
