Friday Photo By Karen Strunks

Friday Photo By Karen Strunks

As part of the 4am Project, which was a global photographic project whose aim was to gather a collection photos from around the world at 4am on 4th April, I had organised a 4am photo walk in Birmingham city centre.   I received permission to photograph Birmingham New Street Station and the Wholesale Markets, so a big thank you to them!   About 35 hardy photographers turned up for this unique view of the city centre. Obviously New Street Station is filled with hustle and bustle, but not at 4am. The photographers could get out their tripods without worrying that a traveller would trip over.   Ironically I took the least amout of photos that morning, but here is one of the few shots I took.   The 4am Project is on-going, so please check out the website and join in the next 4am photo experience! :)

Join the 4am photo walk in city this Saturday!

Part of the tour will include Birmingham New Street station who have kindly given their permission for the ’4am-ers’ to take pictures.   The meeting point is the big brass bull outside the Bullring shopping centre at 4am. Please be on time, and don’t forget your camera!   We shall be joined by Birmingham: It’s Not Shit host Mr Jon Bounds who will be interviewing willing participants for his and Julia Gilbert’s radio show, The Big Paws, on...

Early in the morning

Karen Strunks has decided to get up at stupid o’clock and take photos of Brum. I’m not sure what I was expecting, it doesn’t look that different — except there aren’t any people, so there’s a post-apocalyptic vibe going on. Karen seems to have a talent for finding beautiful angles, this a series well worth keeping an eye on. Four AM tho’, good luck to her.
