BiNS Advent Calendar 2008 – December 5th

Another Central Christmas tape – 1984′s NSFW version. This one is much funnier, but is rude, sweary and contains the sort of humour that Jim Bowen might have got up to when left to his own devices. BiNS Advent Calendar 2008 – December 4th

Back when fun and cameraderie were encouraged at work, when post-production was part of the team of making telly rather than an “unjustifiable expense“, the backroom boys at TV companies like Central used to make ‘Christmas tapes’. They were a sort-of in-jokey ‘Alright on the Night’, to be shown round the offices and not for public consumption. This Central 1983 effort isn’t one of the best, but it does show some fantastic computer graphics at the start. The ’84 one is better, so as Shaw Taylor would say, keep ‘em peeled.
