SUITCASE CINEMA :: unexpected 7inch event next Thursday

We write with exciting news of an impromptu 7inch event:

On: Thursday 21 July, 8.30pm
At: The Spotted Dog, 104 Warwick St, Digbeth B12 0NH
SUITCASE CINEMA present:
THE ATOMIC CAFE + assorted 16mm shorts

Launched last summer, The Suitcase Cinema is a roving
collective with a fetish for all things celluloid. They’ll be
dropping into Digbeth for one night as part of a brief UK
tour, and bringing a radioactive Samsonite full of 16mm
treats. Top of the bill is the 1982 film THE ATOMIC CAFE,
a funny and often terrifying collage of footage from the
heady ‘duck and cover’ days of the Cold War – the perfect
sequel (or maybe prequel?) to our Post-Apocalyptic
Walk-In Movie back in May.
£3 on the door.

REMOTE CONTROL FILM NIGHT
Thursday 4 August on the internet
Leamington Underground Cinema is a new group who
recently put on a filmnight at local multiplex the Apollo.
It went down very well and the next one is in September,
but in the meantime they’re doing a virtual shorts night
next month. (Why didn’t we think of this? No more
lugging kit or abusive drunks. Sounds like bliss.)
