The Gadget Show will feature the darker side of Birmingham in its episode due to be broadcast on Monday 2nd May 2011.
“To try out posture-enhancing shoes, presenter Jon Bentley joined one of Birmingham Ghost Walk’s two regular guides, Ian Braisby, who led the group around the Jewellery Quarter and into the city centre, telling tales of hauntings, murders and dark deeds from the city’s past. With some coaching from Ian, Jon Bentley, armed with a hangman’s noose, told the story of the last public hanging in Birmingham. Ian, a Blue Badge Tourist Guide based in the city, was also filmed trying and discussing the shoes, which contrasted with the Victorian undertaker style outfit he wears for all of the tours.”
