Sat: World’s longest hand-painted film at Ikon

Sat: World’s longest hand-painted film at Ikon

A Press Release we can’t be bothered to rewrite, but that might interest you: We’ve just programmed an event on Saturday lunchtime which you may be interested in for your websites or columns – Unravel, an art project who are attempting to make the longest hand-painted film in Britain – will be joining us for our Family Saturday. The Unravel project aims to represent each metre of land between John O’Groats and Land’s End  by one frame of 16mm film, which will be hand-painted by the public resulting in a 16 hour epic. We think it’s a great project, and it’s a great chance for anyone inspired by our Len Lye exhibition to try their hand at direct film making. The workshop takes place this Saturday (8th January) from 12-3pm, entry is free: http://www.ikon-gallery.co.uk/programme/current/event/473/family_saturday/ Some blurb is attached. Wishing you all a prosperous and joyful new year.
