    Thanks for digging this up – really informative and inspiring – as is Barnsby’s site and his book on Socialism in the Black Country is a gem for those interested in our radical lineage.

    I notice that the source site is no longer live and the article mentions that recordings of Bob Cooney are very limited.

    I did a bit of searching however and, as I expected given the man’s local links, there are several performances available in the Charles Parker Archive for those interested (http://www.birmingham.gov.uk/charlesparkerarchive).
