Jon Bounds on Digbeth, Birmingham's vibrant heart – The Guardian

The Guardian asked me to write about Brum, so as it needs all the support it can I did a bit on Digbeth. They subbed out a clever line about the Rainbow that I'll now save for something else — but did keep the words "pimply bosom". [link]

Great article and always a pleasure to read something in the national media that tells people that Birmingham isn't, actually, shit. And I like the 'Punk didn't die – it just stopped hanging round in bus shelters' line....
  • Bloody marvellous article and the best use of "pimply bosom" I've ever seen (the only one too).

  1. Birmingham: It's Not Shit loves Birmingham, its people, arts, animals, buildings, parks, grass verges, factories and bus stops. We've even got a soft spot for the Black Country.

B:iNS runs The Brummie of the Year Award, Talk Like a Brummie Day and organises odd stuff like spending all day on the eleven bus.

BiNS is mostly by Jon Bounds, a Birmingham based social web consultant, producer and writer. You can hire him to work on your stuff, or follow him on twitter. There's also stuff from Danny Smith and Karen Strunks.
