Class War in Perry Hall

Some residents near Perry Hall Park are very unhappy about the number of cricket squares that are covering the park – preventing people using those bits for anything else. From my youth I remember it being covered by football pitches (and not much in the way of facilities for using them), and having that odd ornamental garden thing — but a glance at the Google Map shows how that's changed. I've long been baffled by the cricket pitch near here that seems totally enclosed on all sides by rail lines. There seems to be no bridge or tunnel to get to it.

Thats why its is such an issue now. People seem to object to the fact that there are criicket squares there now, as opposed to the days when football ruled the roost. Maybe, if i was cynical, i would think the problem is not with the cricket squares, and more with the asians who play cricket. I wonder if the problems would exist if it was white people playing football…..maybe i am being too cynical, or truthful…i wonder which it is?????any comments, anyone!

been looking in depth at the satellite photos on google maps – there’s a small cut away to the left. Not a bit of boundary I’d like to field.
