Twitter is work social to me. Last night, in amongst the tweets about running I was using it to correspond with Tom Watson MP as I have a remit to look at the Power of Information. Then the next morning I find that this particular tool has been withdrawn during my working day (except lunchtime).

If the council need to block social media because it is directly affecting productivity then fine (providing there’s clear evidence for that of course) but the tool of blanket withdrawal followed by a drawn-out process of reinstatement is unnecessary and demoralising to staff who use tools such as this for work as well as social.
