An evening with Tony Juniper (who he?)

Tony Juniper it turns out “has been an environmental campaigner for nearly 20 years. Since 2003 he has been the executive director of Friends of the Earth England, Wales and Northern Ireland and from 2000 has been the Vice Chair of Friends of the Earth International, the global federation of 68 national Friends of the Earth organisations. Tony has worked with Friends of the Earth since 1990 and is stepping down from his role this summer.”

So if an evening with Tony sounds like your idea of fun, you’ll be pleased to know that you can have one on Monday 30th June, 7:30-9pm at the Birmingham and Midland Institute, Margaret Street, Birmingham, B3 3BS (behind Council House).

“Come along to ask questions and have your say on anything from climate change to parrots, world poverty and human rights.” (parrots??) Open to all.

More details, call Chris Williams, Birmingham Friends of the Earth 0121 632 6909.

Tony Juniper is a world authority on tropical birds – that’s why Birmingham FOE have mentioned parrots in their invite. He’s also been at the forefront of UK campaigning for decades and is a lovely man to boot. Well worth a Monday night trip out.
