It’ll be open from noon on the 4th of June.

Fans of sand will be glad to know that the Rainbow pub in Digbeth with be having a traditional brummie beach this summer. (Thanks to Tom Scotney for the tip).

  • Actually I took (rather than found) the picture at 8.30am yesterday with the camera on my phone. Passing it this morning and the ship is practically finished - take that Newcastle, Belfast and wherever else they don't build ships anymore. I know I shouldn't care about this but honestly, the beach was a thing of wonder for kids who live 100 miles from the sea. The events on the ship even require some kind of 'Cruise Card'. Despite having really quite fantastic legs (they've run a marathon or two you know) I'll be keeping them covered....

  • Blimey, I assumed artists impression — that's some soft focus.
