I read Frank’s autobiography but don’t recall that bit, I do remember him talking an awful lot about shit. Mind you not only had the version I’d got had multiple copies of some pages with some others missing, but I read Noddy Holder’s at about the same time. Noddy talked about being paid to lie under a glass table while some coprophilic shat on it, or perhaps it was an anal probe.

That aside, the alien story was mentioned in Frank Skinner’s autobiography. It was originally reported (he says) in the newspaper ‘The Smethwick Telephone’ and allowed him to crack the classic joke:

“In the front page story that resulted, she said she had spoke to the little green men and they had understood exactly what she said. If you’ve ever met anyone from Rowley Regis you’d know how unlikely this was”.
