Mooove with the times

Cow Cow CowBull Bull Bull

It didn’t take long for Brasso the Bull to become part of Brummie folklore – and for “meet you by the bull” to supplant “meet you by the ramp” – but do you think he might be lonely? One thing Manchester has on us is that it has played host to the Cow Parade – as has Edinburgh, London, Istanbul, Vigo, Milan…

The Cow Parade is a brilliant art event where locally augmented and painted cow statues are placed round the city, so when I found out that it was possible to “bring the cow parade to your city” I er, well. I hesitated, because I don’t think I can do it on my own – but seriously, I think it would be a wonderful thing – maybe for ArtsFest 2008? Does anyone have a better idea how we’d get it moooving? (Sorry).

  • I loved the Manchester one, really gave the city a coherant feel for the time it was there.
  • Well, having lived through the Cow Parade in Houston, Texas, I have to say it's no big deal. Better to have one bull than a herd of cows!
