He gets knocked down, but he gets up again

Fancy spending an evening with Roger Cook? No, you won’t have to spend it knocking on the doors of underworld characters asking “Why won’t you answer our questions, Mr Cotterill?” – the Electric cinema are hosting a talk and Q+A with the legendary investigative journalist on Wednesday 17th October.

Expect to hear tales of institutional incompetence, bad law, injustices, naked criminality and being knocked unconscious on the job – I’m not sure he’ll mention how my mate Craig bought the show’s old van and left the windows blacked out for scarring the shit out of people at traffic lights.
The event is co-hosted by The Royal Television Society, so it’s free to their members or £4 otherwise.

  1. Birmingham: It's Not Shit loves Birmingham, its people, arts, animals, buildings, parks, grass verges, factories and bus stops. We've even got a soft spot for the Black Country.

B:iNS runs The Brummie of the Year Award, Talk Like a Brummie Day and organises odd stuff like spending all day on the eleven bus.

BiNS is mostly by Jon Bounds, a Birmingham based social web consultant, producer and writer. You can hire him to work on your stuff, or follow him on twitter. There's also stuff from Danny Smith and Karen Strunks.

Feel free to send us anything you're interested in - or think we might be.
If you've got gigs to promote, best to chuck them on the talk board.
