illuminated, but hardly glittering

They’ve announced the shortlist of names that may illuminate the Central Library as part of Fierce’s Name in Lights art project. They’re Andy Le Marr, Derek Ramanauskas, Una White, and Lydia Buffery – all worthy winners that would deserve a bit of recognition. And that’s what disappoints us, worthy winners don’t say much about the fickle nature of fame – it’s not interesting conceptual art, it’s a dull ‘daily mirror heart of britain’ middle of the road thing.
And we were so excited. Shame.
